Following their #6 ranking on The Middle East and North Africa’s 50 Best Restaurants List, Orfali Bros. put Syrian flavours on the global radar with a landmark ranking.

Says Chef Mohammad Orfali of the accolade, “The arrival of the Michelin guide in Dubai is an indication that the culinary scene has taken off to the stratosphere. Local and regional award ceremonies have definitely shed light on numerous restaurants, hidden gems and delicacies in the region, and I am of the conviction that the world deserves more than just a glimpse of what the culinary scene in Dubai is, at its best.

“Through international awards like the Michelin guide, we have discovered emerging and up-and-coming chefs, restaurants and cuisines all the way from a Buddhist monastery to a small restaurant nestled in the mountains of Spain. There is really no limit to what we can discover.”

Chef Mohammad said that as a melting pot of both civilizations and cuisines, “Dubai is definitely one to watch, as far as international awards go.

“It will not only drive other restaurants and chefs like myself towards excellence but will also increase competitiveness and quality to reach the pinnacle.”

Having opened in March 2021 in the Wasl 51 complex, Orfali Bros. quickly developed a cult following amongst Dubai foodies. A cosy spot for culinary aficionados, the bistro offers options for lunch, dinner and every excuse in between with their unique flavours and sweet creations.

Their brotherly bond, love for family and passion for sharing moments over a meal comes through in not just the heartfelt menu but also in the friendly service and laid-back atmosphere where all are welcome.

The brothers work with local farmers and suppliers to serve local ingredients of the highest quality in their dishes.

Mohammad, Wassim and Omar Orfali comprise the trio of brothers behind the casual-yet-cutting edge Jumeirah bistro, Orfali Bros. The brothers take inspiration from their travels near and far, explorations that have created the unique lens through which they see the world of food.

They aspire to enrich the culinary world with creations that are distinctly influenced by their roots and experiences with an ever-growing appetite for adventure and baking that continues to bond them. Whilst they respect tradition, they believe rules are meant to be bent and broken. They are driven to constantly push the boundaries of cooking to discover new flavours and sensations to express in their food and pastries.

The brothers prefer not to define their creations as belonging to a particular cuisine; rather they simply cook food that they love to eat. They serve dishes because they have a connection to their past, reminding them of who they are and where they come from. They want their dishes, their cuisine, to invoke a sense of creativity, pride, and joy at the many possibilities that can be born from a shared passion for food. Their motto? “We speak food. Food is our language.”
